The Graphic Communications Technology Department offers five areas of emphasis and works in cooperation with the Colorado Community Colleges. Students may earn certificates for the successful completion of these programs: Graphic Design, Design Production, Multimedia Graphic Design, Photographer's Assistant and Professional Photography.Students completing certificate programs possess entry-level job skills in specialized areas. All computer courses are taught in labs equipped with networked Macintosh and Windows-based computers. |

MULTIMEDIA GRAPHIC DESIGN PROGRAM -YEAR I The Multimedia Graphic Design Year One certificate gives you the skills to become a graphic designer. This certificate is comprised of two semester long classes that take you from learning the fundamentals of design to implementing your newly found skills through many projects including logo design, poster design and web design.Students are awarded the Multimedia Graphic Design Year 1 Certificate upon completion of the Graphic Design Year 1 and Design Production Year 1programs. |

GRAPHIC DESIGN PROGRAM
The Graphic Design Program begins by teaching the fundamentals that are crucial to becoming a successful designer in today's highly competitive market. The student will study Design and Color Theory, Typography, and learn how to implement the elements of design on the computer using both the Mac and PC platforms. Computer software training will include cutting edge design programs, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. The curriculum focuses on promotional pieces, advertising collateral and other media vehicles that are used in advertising. |

| The Graphic Design program is a one-semester program. Students who complete all course work with a grade of C or better will receive a certificate in Graphic Design.

| Prerequisite: Keyboarding skills, basic computer operating skills, and file management.
