VSD 8536 Early Childhood Education The Early Childhood Education Program is designed to provide the skills needed to secure employment as a teaching assistant in a childcare center, preschool, or elementary school. Students enrolled in the program receive training in the classroom setting and in the on-site licensed childcare facility. Leadership skills are taught through the integration of the FCCLA student organization. Students considering a career in education, child psychology, pediatric medicine, social work, or other child-related occupations are encouraged to enroll in the ECE program. Students who successfully complete the ECE Program can earn transferable college credit to any participating community college in the state of Colorado if they complete the course requirements with a rating equivalent to 82% accuracy. Course Work: • Introduction to Early Childhood Education • Early Childhood Education Lab Techniques • Internship/Kids Tech Childcare Center Additional fees may apply.
