Program Description
Program Descriptions
Developmentally based and age appropriate activities guide the planning of our daily curriculum. Concepts from art, science, drama, music, literature/language, multi-cultural, and nutritional education are an integral part of our curriculum studies. As the teachers facilitate the children's learning, they capitalize on spontaneous themes that tend to emerge from the children as they engage in discovery play. Indoor and outdoor free play times are scheduled throughout the day. Creative Curriculum is the curriculum that is used at Kids Tech.
Toddler Classroom
The toddler program serves children between the ages of 12 months to approximately two years old. The adult to child ratio is one to five. The focus of the toddler program is to develop self-help skills. This is accomplished by emphasizing self-practice as daily routines are carried out. Opportunities for discovery play along with fine and gross motor activities are scheduled throughout the day.
Transition Classroom
The Transition program serves children between the ages of approximately two years through age three. The adult to child ratio is one to seven. The transition classroom is designed for the purpose of preparing toddler “graduates” or 2-1/2 year olds for the preschool classroom. Some of the things that are done in the classroom are potty training, lengthen the time the children will sit at circle time, attend small group, and social skills.
Preschool Classroom
The preschool program serves children between the ages of two and a half through four years of age. The adult to child ratio is one to ten. We request that these children be potty trained. The emphasis of the preschooler and pre-kindergarten programs is to produce young independent thinkers who are prepared to learn. This is accomplished through focus centers, small and large group time, free choice activities, and fine and gross motor play.
Pre-Kindergarten classrooms
The Pre-kindergarten program serves children that are four and five years old. The adult to child ratio is one to ten. The Pre-Kindergarten program is designed to immerse children in learning the skills they need for kindergarten. These children are exposed to name writing, letter sounds, letter recognition, and many more concepts. This is accomplished through learning centers, small and large group time, free choice activities, and fine and gross motor play. Children have a nice balance of play and teacher directed time.
